Books

Cradle to Cradle by William McDonough and Michael Braungart

If you haven't heard of or recently read this book, it's an absolute must-read for anyone who is a human being and/or lives on earth.
Read it, share it and then buy another copy.
Repeat.

McDonough is an architect and Braungart is a chemist. Nothing they've written in this manifesto is necessarily "new," and the book was first published in 2002, however the content and the simple, riveting presentation thereof make this an eye-opener for any consumer or house-dweller. It's an honest assessment of current and an idealistic prolepsis of future manufacturing and fabrication techniques, at its most technical. In the most broad sense, it's turned the so-called "green" movement completely over and spanked it.

Food

Lion and Compass in Sunnyvale, California

A long-time favorite of the local work-force, ask for the executive room if you've got 5 or more in your party. The service is good, the food is great and the ambiance is excellent.

Their menu is American/Californian and I recommend the watermelon gazpacho, the goat cheese salad, the pot-ae-feu, and the seabass. Any combination of berries and sorbet will do for a wonderful, light desert.

I am committed to personal growth and development, the acquisition of knowledge, and social responsibility and civic duty.

Karina's Introduction

There are so many things I could write to describe myself, but they all seem so trivial compared to the life I live everyday; so in short I am married to the man I thought never existed and I have two amazing little miracles that call me Mommy.

I am blessed.
